That You May Believe: Resurrection
September 11
Resurrection by Pastor Nathan Schultz
Today, we begin a worship series: “That You May Believe” – centered around seven statements by Jesus recorded in John’s gospel that begin with “I am…” Today, we focus on: “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.” (John 11: 25-26)
Our culture avoids death. We sanitize it behind the walls of hospitals and funeral homes. We bemoan aging and glorify youth. But decay and death are persistent. In this culture, what does it mean that Jesus is “the resurrection and the life?” How do we live with hope while walking through shadows of death?
John 11:17-27; 38-44
