The Cost of Discipleship by Pastor Jeff Cloeter
One of the hardest things Jesus said was that to be his disciple requires you to “hate your own father, mother . . . brother, sisters, yes even your own life” (Lk. 14:26). What does that mean? Can we, or should we, do it? As we prepare for a fall series focusing on the words of Jesus in John, we will first “count the cost.” To follow this Savior is not a half-hearted endeavor. It requires decisive commitment.
